It is a quite sea resort with loads of cafes and bars. There is a Ferry service that can take you out to La Manga
A flat walk , the first 2km are down by the sea front. Then you come to the airport pilots “marine club” which the path flows around for about 50m meters, then back to sea front for final 2km, where you partly share the promenade with traffic. Then the traffic gets diverted and it is solely a walkers domain (bliss).
The sea front views in Ribera are superb ,as it contains boats and yachts in the background.
Santiago De La Ribera is home to a Spanish military air base.
There are plenty of sites and indicators of this in the local area
The sometimes have air shows and exhibitions during the month of June to celebrate the airbase foundation.
Local artists have painted many murals. The local yacht club is build in the shape of a yacht.
There is a very nice beach bar at the end of the walk serving tapas coffees and beers.
For those in favour of more traditional food.. The Dog and Duck a short walk up the pedestrian path by hotel Ribera serves traditional english food.
During peak season Jul and Aug there are regular concerts on boulevard nightly between 10pm and 1am
